BUSINESS

Assets are fixed geographical locations, representing a real-world item. The purpose of an asset is to define an entity that can be assigned as the location of a job or a request.

In a park, assets could be the garden beds, paths, playgrounds, buildings, or a statue.

For a power utility, the poles and substations are assets.

Assets are very useful for setting up recurring maintenance schedules. It is not so helpful if most of your requests at different locations every time.

Assets can be imported into Gruntify from an existing system use the Bulk Import.

ENTERPRISE If it is important to you that the assets in Gruntify are synced automatically with assets in your own systems, talk to us about developing a Grunt which will manage the assets.

Note: While assets can be used with both Requests and Jobs, Assets are only available to Business subscribers, or Enterprise implementations with the Business features.

Valid Geometry

Gruntify requires that all uploaded Asset geometries must be valid, meeting industry-standard quality requirements.

  • When an Asset with an invalid geometry is added or imported into Gruntify, you will be alerted as to why the geometry is invalid.

  • Invalid geometries may not be displayed or visualized in other screens such as Jobs and Requests.

Sample invalid geometries include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Self-intersection, including ring self-intersection where one or multiple parts of a polygon overlap another part of itself;

  • Polygons with holes;

  • Duplicate nodes;

  • Unclosed polygons;

  • Inner and exterior rings cross, among others.

This tutorial will show you how to add, edit and remove assets.
